Arlington, V.A., March 22, 2012— Avedis H. Seferian, currently the Vice President of Compliance and Administration for Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) was named President and Chief Executive Officer by WRAP’s Board of Directors following a three month national search.
“Mr. Seferian’s experience at WRAP over the past seven years coupled with his leadership skills and educational background made him the best choice for the Board,” said Charles C. Masten, Chairman of the Board.
With an undergraduate degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, India, an MBA from the American University of Armenia and a law degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Mr. Seferian brings a global perspective to his role at WRAP. He is fluent in five languages, including Hindi and spoken Urdu. He will continue to reside in the Northern Virginia area with his wife and two children.
“I am very excited to take over the reins at WRAP,” Mr. Seferian said. “This is an exceptional organization with an important mission and I am honored and humbled by the confidence the Board is placing in me.”
Mr. Masten added, “Mr. Seferian has a real passion for the mission of WRAP. He is well known and respected in the social compliance field. We look forward to WRAP’s continued growth under his leadership.”
Mr. Seferian succeeds Mr. Stephen Jesseph as CEO. Mr. Jesseph retired in December 2011.
